Playlist 10/21/07

Using a simple 5 point ranking system, I rated the songs and did an average to see how "dark" this week's show was. My results - 3.2 out of 5. Not bad, but room for improvement. Christopher reiterated that Siouxsie Sioux will be hosting on October 28. Can't wait to see what she plays on Sunday night.

Some bands that I like that are missing from these playlists:
The Bolshoi
The Glove
Spear of Destiny

Perhaps I will do a short post on bands that I think should be played more often.

Mission Statement

I grew up in the 80s but Pop music was never my thing. I enjoyed listening to dark alternative and progressive music. When Sirius Satellite radio announced that they would do a three hour show each Sunday night, I was elated. I didn't get to listen too often because the show came on late (10 - 1). Then I bought the Stiletto and it can record shows. I have been listening each week now. While listening, I have found that Christopher the Minister, the current DJ, plays the same bands and songs each week. This blog will present alternatives, accept suggestions, and produce a weekly playlist. I am working on creating a rating system for the level of darkness that the show contains. The goal of this blog is to help make the Dark Wave show the best of the best on a weekly basis.

Christopher plays one Lords of the New Church song just about each week, and that is what inspired the title of this blog. There have to be more songs by them than just Russian Roulette (even though its a good song).

Things I wish:
More diverse bands.
More diverse songs.
Playlists posted online somewhere.
Other band profiles

NOTE: I have some back dated playlists that I will start with. Then we will move forward
